Caring For One Another

Friendly Visitors

Continuing in their concern for Zion's members, the Friendly Visitors meet the third Monday at 10:00 AM at the Zion Social Hall. As coffee, tea, and cookies are enjoyed, concerns and joys are shared, visits planned and cards signed.

Members and friends of Zion who are ill, live alone or are in homes, those grieving, and, yes, those celebrating special events are remembered. Cards are sent, visits are made, and flowers delivered.

More visitors are needed. Please consider joining, or at least attending a meeting to learn more about the group's activities.

Eucharistic Ministers

One of the most rewarding ministries of Zion is that of the Eucharistic Ministers. Members of this faithful group bring the Body and Blood of Christ to our homebound members.  In this way they can feel connected to their congregation even though they are unable to participate communally in the sacrament by being present at Liturgy.

Eucharistic Ministry enables us to nourish our homebound members’ spiritual needs through one-on-one contact.  Our members and the Eucharistic Ministers who serve them enjoy a truly rewarding relationship as they share community in Christ in a very personal way.

As the number of homebound in our congregation increases, our need for additional Eucharistic Ministers becomes more urgent. Training is available and the visitation times can be easily adapted to anyone’s busy personal schedule. Meeting commitments are only four times per year.

If you think you would be interested in this important ministry of our church, committee meeting times are posted in the bulletin and the newsletter, and anyone is welcome to attend.  You are also welcome to contact the Pastor for direction and guidance as you pursue joining this valuable ministry.
